Games developer Stardock Entertainment’s slate of up-coming PC game titles, including Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, Elemental: Fallen Enchantress and The Political Machine 2012 will only be available as digital downloads. The titles will be available for purchase through digital resellers, including the GameStop PC application, and consumers will also be able to buy the titles from GameStop’s more than 4000 retail stores in the United States. When purchasing a title at a GameStop store, the consumer will receive a redemption code that will allow them to download, install, play and update the game through the GameStop PC application.

Digital distributor Impulse, Inc. (www.impulsedriven.com) announced the addition of several new features designed to enable developers easily add "free to play" type features to their PC games. Stardock Entertainment, independent publisher of games including Sins of a Solar Empire, Demigod and Elemental: War of Magic has hired Civilization V Lead Designer Jon Shafer to help lead the studio's design and modding efforts. Shafer will bring additional modding expertise to the recently launched Elemental: War of Magic and will take the lead in designing the next as-of-yet unannounced Stardock title.

Stardock Entertainment continues to bolster its development staff as renowned fantasy and science fiction writer/editor Dave Stern joins Stardock to oversee creative storytelling and lore implementation in all future projects, including the recently launched Elemental: War of Magic (www.elementalgame.com). Stern, author of numerous books including the novelizations of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and The Blair Witch Project and former editor of Pocket Books Star Trek and science fiction lines, was responsible for putting together the Hiergamenon lore book for Elemental: War of Magic Limited Edition. Stern will head up all further integration of the Elemental: War of Magic lore into the increasingly popular strategy title as Stardock continues to offer unparalleled post release support for the game.
